DISCIPLES HOUSE OPENING RETREAT
The Disciples House community began the new academic year with the now-annual Opening Retreat on Sunday and Monday, August 13 and 14. New and returning students gathered at the Disciples House to pack sleeping bags, pillows, food, and bug spray for the overnight event at Bethany Hills Church Camp near Kingston Springs, Tennessee.

Fall House Programs
On Thursday, October 22, General Minister And President Sharon Watkins joined House residents and local trustees for a home cooked meal, worship, and lively after dinner conversation. Residents shared their reasons for following a call to education for ministry and their hopes for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) they will inherit.
The next House dinner will coincide with the Cole Lecture at the Divinity School on Thursday evening, October 22.

The first House dinner of the Fall 2011 semester kicked off Tuesday evening, August 30. Residents and guests enjoyed grilled burgers and brats, a lively panel discussion about GA planning from the "inside" and a brief worship service to close the evening.

Talent 4 the House 2011 Rocks Nashville Disciples
The fourth annual “Talent for the House” for Disciples Divinity House at Vanderbilt was again an incredible night of food, music, fellowship, and fun. The event gathered 200 Disciples from almost every Disciple congregation in Nashville. The crowd enjoyed chili, bid on a silent auction, and listened to the musical talents of Disciple students, as well as the Nashville Bluegrass Band, Jonell Mosser, and Heather Bond.
