The Graduation Celebration at Vanderbilt Divinity School took place in Benton Chapel Thursday, May 7. House resident and MDiv graduate Asher Kolieboi was one of the student speakers, as were retiring faculty Doug Knight and Jack Sasson (Hebrew Bible) and Dean Emilie Townes. The Celebration Dinner at Disciples House followed at 7. Family and friends joined graduates for opening remarks by Dean Mark Miller-McLemore, along with by roasts and toasts of each graduate by their Housemates. It’s always a fun and fabulous evening!

Graduation week began with Wise Practice. Sunday evening May 4, House residents gathered for dinner and a presentation on conflict management led by Congregational Immersion Project pastoral residents Cheryl Russell, Katie Russell, and Shelly Tilton. Their humorous approach (in a “Family Feud” format) drew on responses they gathered from surveying house alumni about their experiences with and responses to congregational conflict.
On Monday, Suzanne Webb, Senior Pastor of Union Avenue Christian Church in St. Louis, led students through a study of conflcit management based on Speed Leas helpful book, Discover Your Conflict Management Style.
