Baccalaureate and Graduation 2012 at Disciples Divinity House

On Thursday, May 10, Disciples House rejoiced with students graduating from Vanderbilt Divinity School, two Disciples receiving their Masters of Divinity. The House holds a Graduation Celebration Dinner after the Divinity School’s Baccalaureate on the Thursday night before Friday’s Commencement. Families of the graduates attend. Everyone enjoys a send-off that includes dinner, roasting by House-mates, concluding remarks by the Dean, and a blessing and benediction. Winners of the Chalice Press Book Awards for 2012 were Eli Rolon and Andrew Shepherd. Andrew also was the recipient of the Divinity School Student Association Service Award, as voted by his student classmates from Vanderbilt Divinity School, during Commencement on Friday, May 11, in Benton Chapel.
